Our story begins in Belgium, 1983...

Our journey began four decades ago when a young Indian, Sunil Bhu, guided by his fascination with European cheese, took up an apprenticeship under the guidance of a Master cheese-maker in Diksmuide, Flanders.

It was under his watchful aegis that Sunil was initiated into the fine art of producing farm cheese in Belgium where he successfully practised at a dairy farm and learnt all he could about how cheese was made in the region known as Flanders, famous for its cheese.

Thereafter, he took up residence in North Italy and trained under renowned cheese-makers who carved his nascent talent into an artisanal mastery of the production of a variety of South European cheeses.

Since then, Sunil Bhu has successfully implemented these skills and practices. First, on a farm on the outskirts of Delhi and now, at a factory in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. The result: Some of finest European cheese, handcrafted right here in India.

Flanders Dairy Products is built on the bedrock of dedication to quality cheese-making. We specialize in the production of natural cheese and dairy products rather than processed cheese.

The Art of Making cheese

Perfecting European cheese in India

At Flanders, we’ve set the bar at the high-quality typical of European cheese-makers as the standard for crafting our cheese. The process begins at our dairy farm which yields fresh cow’s milk. The milk is then measured and tested, after which it is pasteurized and poured into our traditional cheese vats. We add our unique enzymes and cultures to give a specific flavour and consistency to each of our products, and the curd is formed in small batches using age old methods. We ensure a character concentration which is equally pronounced in our fresh or mature dairy products.

At Flanders, we blend the ancient with the modern, using methods that date back to antiquity while incorporating state-of-the-art technology. Most of the equipment used in the production — the milk cooler, cheese vats, cheese moulds, mozzarella producing machine have been brought down from Europe.
